Watch Out Netflix: Warner Bros. Begins Renting Movies on Facebook

Warner Bros. Digital Distribution (WBDD) announced it will begin testing an offering of selected movies for purchase or rental through its Facebook movie pages. Consumers will be able to use Facebook Credits to buy or rent a movie.

WBDD is testing Facebook film downloads with The Dark Knight. The film can be rented through its official Facebook Page at facebook.com/darkknight. To rent the film, consumers click on the “rent” icon. The cost per rental is 30 Facebook Credits or $3.

Films will be be available for up to 48 hours from purchase. WBDD says additional titles will be made available for rental and purchase on a regular basis over the coming months. What do y’all think…would you take advantage of something like this?

    I am kind of a fan. I like the access of movies from various outlets. I can’t wait until new releases somehow make their way to the small screen.
