For all of you who didn’t already think I lead the most random life in existence…
For some reason beyond me, Better Homes and Gardens Magazine is flying me out to their headquarters (in DES MOINES) next month so I can participate in a cook-off with 4 other bloggers for fabulous prizes! Here’s the thing — the 4 other bloggers are all FOOD-related bloggers. I can barely make tomato sauce!
Much like Jessie Spano in that epic episode of Saved by the Bell, I’m so so excited…so so scared. I fear I’m there to be laughed at! Needless to say, I may know much about hot leather boots and smokey eyes, but in this contest, I’m the complete underdog and will badly need your vote.
I don’t have complete details yet – but I can tell you that voting for me will NOT be done at the event (though critique will be) but in the weeks before and after online! And you will be allowed to vote daily. AND I have an incredibly awesome giveaway I’ll be doing in conjunction with the voting kickoff – which too I will be announcing shortly…which too you will hopefully thus be enticed to vote for me after.
For the contest, we had to choose a recipe in the Better Homes and Gardens cookbook and adapt it to our own creative lifestyle (and also use the soon-to-be launched Better Homes and Gardens cookware to create it) — my recipe will be fish tacos and black-bean-avocado salad. Des Moines will not know what hit them! In a good way, we hope…
